THE PERSONALITIES

LEN SQUANCE is "the brains" behind the original diorama and exhibited single handed until the disater in 1995 after which he enlisted the help of others to prevent any further mishaps. A retired Leading Ambulance Paramedic he now devotes his time to doing as little as possible in as long a time as possible and endeavouring to avoid household chores. With the weakened state of the diorama forcing its retirement, he has enlisted the help of Roger, who has been helping him with exhibiting the diorama for several years, and Jim, who has become interested as a partial diversion from railway modelling in the construction of the new 16 foot long layout and enhanced static display.

JIM FEWSON has known Len for many years both in his work as the Head Porter at hospitals in Plymouth and in amateur dramatics with the hospitals drama group. An enthusiastic railway modeller for many years Jim is the Chairman of the Plymouth and District Model Railway Club. Jim has followed the fortunes of Blackpool in the box for a number of years and having found himself with "time on his hands" (how he magages this nobody knows!) has become involved with building the new layout and helping to exhibit it once its completed.
